VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT PROGRAM
Meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia
National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement hosted the meeting with the representatives of Forest Policy Service of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Recourses Protection of Georgia. Professional qualifications relevant to forestry sector and coordination mechanisms between the Ministry and National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, aimed at the development of competent staff, were among the topics discussed by the sides.
The Representatives of the Ministry underlined that under the proposed new “Forest Code”, the certified staff will carry out all the work implemented in the forests.
Vocational Qualifications Development Support Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Recourses Protection of Georgia, developed “Forest guard’, “Master of forest species”, and “Wood- cutting master’s”, professional education standards and relevant modules.
Presently, the preparation of the draft documents is entering its final stage, after which the representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Recourses Protection of Georgia will support the implementation of the educational programs in few colleges; therefore, eliminate the shortage of qualified workforce in this field.
