The National Qualifications Framework and Classifier of Learning Fields renewed
On April 10, 2019, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia issued the order No. 69 / N on approval of the revised National Qualifications Framework and Classifier of Learning Fields.
The revised National Qualifications Framework and first drafts of Learning Classifier prepared in 2017, after which documents discussed in the format of working groups at the seminars, conference, and workshops held by the European Training Fund (ETF).
The National Qualifications Framework considers the requirements of the European Frameworks (EQF LLL, QF-EHEA).Association Agreement with the European Union and membership of the European Higher Education Area allows not only to draw up the national qualifications framework relevant to the European Qualifications Framework but also to link the National and European Frameworks through the self-certification/comparison mechanisms and thus facilitate understanding and recognition of qualifications issued in Georgia at international level.
Learning Fields Classifier based on the International Standard Classifier (ISCED) - "List of Education Directions (Fields)", which aims to promote transparency, compatibility, and comparability of educational programs at the international level, determine the relevant qualifications of the educational program, mobility, and recognition of qualifications.
The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement is actively working on a renewed National Qualifications Framework and a detailed action plan to introduce Learning Fields into practice, which includes documentation management, further development, and monitoring issues, as well as implementing information campaign for all stakeholders.
