The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement was registered at EQAR
On July 18, the Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement - Giorgi Vashakidze held a presentation on "European Quality in Higher Education" at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and congratulated the audience with registration of the Center at the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mikheil Batiashvili, representatives of Georgian Parliament, Higher Educational Institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
On June 27, 2019, National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement was registered at the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) (http://www.eqar.eu/register/agencies/agency/?id=) 59). The registration of EQAR preceded positive assessment of the ENQA and obtaining the full membership status, achieved in April 2019, by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
The Center's registration at the EQAR means that the external quality assurance mechanisms, procedures and standards implemented in Georgia are in compliance with European Quality Assurance Standards and Guidelines (ESG-2015). The review reports of Georgian HEIs will be published in the EQAR database (DEQAR), which will significantly enhance the reputation and awareness of higher education institutions operating in Georgia across Europe.
Consequently, the number of foreign students will increase as they will have an opportunity to obtain European Quality Education in Georgian HE institutions.
In the following years, the Center will actively work on the implementation of ENQA recommendations that will further enhance the quality of higher education in Georgia.
