Open Discussions about the Draft National Qualifications Framework
On November 18, 2014 the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement organized an open discussion about the Draft National Qualifications Framework at Ilia State University. Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia opened the meeting.
The Draft National Qualifications Framework has been prepared within the framework of the project titled Developing National Qualifications Framework and Ensuring Compatibility with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The project aims at developing the unified Draft National Qualifications Framework compatible with the EQF that would facilitate the curriculum development process and quality assurance in Georgia, and would promote transparency and recognition of National qualifications abroad.
The event was attended by representatives of educational institutions, international organizations, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia as well as the institutions under the Ministry.
The first part of the session dealt with the presentation focused on the reasons for elaborating the Draft Qualifications Framework and the expected outcomes. Lali Bakradze, the group leader of the project delivered the presentation. The second part of the session was dedicated to the detailed discussion of the document that envisaged the dialogue on the statements and comments proposed by the institutions.
