The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement has joined the Erasmus+ institutional development project titled “Strengthening Dental Care for Patients with Special Needs and Promoting Continuous Education for Dentists in Georgia” as a partner.
The project aims to enhance the professional capacities of dentists by updating/modernizing the dental program curricula in Georgian higher education institutions and equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality dental care for patients with disabilities in Georgia.
Key Objectives of the Project:
- Modernization of Dental Curricula: Revamping the educational programs in dentistry offered by higher education institutions in the Tbilisi, Imereti, and Adjara regions. This includes updating current courses and strengthening both theoretical and practical components, enabling dentists to deliver quality dental services to people with disabilities using the latest technologies and methods.
- Practical Training for Students and Academic Staff: Providing practical training and retraining for students and academic staff in partner higher education institutions' dentistry programs.
- Continuous Learning Opportunities for Practicing Dentists: Ensuring continuous professional development for practicing dentists in the Tbilisi, Imereti, and Adjara regions through the creation and offering of specialized learning modules.
- Raising Awareness Among Patients and Caregivers: Increasing awareness among patients with disabilities and their caregivers about oral health, the importance of dental services, and improving access to these services.
The project will be coordinated by the European University and implemented between 2024 and 2026. In addition to the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, the initiative will involve local higher education institutions and international partners.
