European Network of Information Centers - ENIC Network

Established by the Council of Europe and UNESCO, The European Network of Information Centers (ENIC Network) was created to facilitate the recognition of higher education qualifications across Europe and to promote the implementation of the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region (Lisbon Convention 1999). The network cooperates with the National Academic Recognition Centers for Academic Recognition of the European Union (NARIC Network).

The ENIC - NARIC is a network of National Information Centers of 55 countries which facilitates the academic recognition of qualifications under the Lisbon Convention (1997). Each member center operates within the convention's principles.

The purpose of the network is to promote the recognition of education received abroad. Participating parties are tasked with overseeing the Convention and facilitating its implementation, support and monitor the practical implementation of the Convention by competent national authorities. The network facilitates the exchange of information and experience, sharing of best practices among its member countries.

Georgia ratified the Lisbon Convention in 1999, and in the European network of the National Information Centers for academic recognition, it is represented by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE). The role of the NCEQE is to provide the ENIC-NARIC representatives with reliable information about the Georgian educational system, educational institutions and educational documents.
