Coordination Council

LEPL - National Center For Educational Quality Enhancement - Coordination Council is a managerial body established to ensure the involvement of stakeholders in the management and development of the center.

According to the Article Article 54  of Statute of the Legal Entity of Public Law - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (Order №89 / N of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia) the

Coordination Council shall:

 

a) Review and approve the Center's operational and strategic plans, and develop proposals for amendments;

b) Review authorisation and accreditation standards and procedures, and develop proposals for their improvement;

c) Review the implementation of the Centre’s strategic and operational plans, activity reports, staff structure, and draft budgets;

d) Review the results of external evaluations of the Center, including assessments and recommendations by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA),

the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME);

e) Review opportunities for international cooperation in education quality assurance and develop recommendations for the internationalisation of the Center's activities;

f) Review the results of internal quality assurance mechanisms and develop recommendations for the Center's development;

g) Review draft amendments to the Center's regulations;

h) Review the organisation's information security policy;

i) Review internal audit reports;

j) Participate in the selection of candidates for the Early Childhood and Preschool Education, General Education, Vocational and Higher Education Institutions Authorisation, Accreditation of Educational

Programmes, and Appeals Councils;

k) In agreement with the Ministry, determine the qualification requirements for the Center's Director;

l) Select candidates for the position of Director of the Center and submit them to the Minister for presentation to the Prime Minister;

m) Participate in the process of terminating the Center Director;

n) Establish an Ethics Committee to review the activities of members of the Authorisation Councils for Early Childhood and Preschool Education, General, Vocational, and Higher Education Institutions,

Accreditation Council of Educational Programmes and Appeals Councils, as well as the Director, Deputy Director, and Audit Service staff. The composition and rules of operation of the Ethics

Committee shall be determined by an individual administrative-legal act of the Coordinating Council;

o) Issue individual administrative-legal acts within its competence.
