In order to promote the implementation of the Lisbon Convention, to improve the mechanism of recognition of education received by refugees in Georgia, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) continues to develop the project – “Promoting Implementation Procedures in Practice for the Recognition of Education Received by Refugees within the framework of the grant program of the Council of Europe. The center won the mentioned grant within the framework of the small grant competition announced by the Council of Europe. The grant competition aims to support the ENIC Centers involved in the educational program of the Council of Europe to meet the commitments defined by the Lisbon Convention. 

Within the project, based on the best international practices and the research on the needs of higher educational institutions in Georgia, the NCEQE developed a training module for higher educational institutions on the procedures of the recognition of education received by refugees. Moreover, the training module was prepared for those employees of the NCEQE who communicate with citizens and provide information. In total, 44 representatives of 33 higher educational institutions and 46 employees of the NCEQE attended the training. The participants were informed about the existing procedures for the recognition of education received by refugees and received comprehensive information regarding the implementation of these procedures. In addition, by working on practical tasks, the participants had the opportunity to implement the recognition procedures in practice. 
Besides, the participants of the training were introduced to the general outline of the aspects to be developed in the direction of the recognition of refugee education. It should be noted that certain types of recommendations were presented by the participants, which will be considered while working on these issues.

Moreover, it is planned to prepare a guideline for higher educational institutions, which will describe existing procedures for recognizing the education of refugees. In addition, in order to spread the information, a brochure will be prepared in Georgian, English, and other foreign languages regarding the existing procedure for recognizing the education of refugees. The brochure describes legal procedures, a list of mandatory documents, contact information, and the names of the institutions where applicants can go for the education recognition process. The brochure will be distributed to the relevant organizations,refugee councils, etc. where the first contact is established with persons with refugee status.
