The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement participates in the Erasmus + project - "Strengthening Dental Services for Patients with Special Needs and Promoting Continuous Education of Dentists in Georgia".
The project aims to enhance the training process for graduated dentists by updating the curriculum of dental education programmes in higher education institutions of Georgia. Within the framework of the project, the knowledge, and competencies necessary to provide high-quality dental services to patients with special needs will be identified.
As part of the project, a working visit was made to Poznan University of Medical Sciences, along with representatives from several higher education institutions authorized in Georgia, to share international experience.
Within the framework of the visit, working meetings were held with the heads of Dentistry, Child and Adolescent Dentistry, and Special Needs Dentistry departments of the host University. Polish colleagues shared with the members of the working group the peculiarities and best practices of teaching dental services for people with special needs.
A working visit was also made to the Special Needs School Complex in Poznan, which provides education for people with moderate, severe, and profound intellectual disabilities. This institution closely cooperates with the Poznan University of Medical Sciences, where Polish and international students participate in a one-day training practice.
