LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement hosted the President of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE)

Lasha Margishvili, Acting Director of the LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, hosted Harm Peters, President of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE), in a working meeting format.

 

The meeting aimed to exchange international best practices and experience in enhancing and ensuring the quality of medical education.

 

As part of the working meeting, Harm Peters delivered a presentation to the participants that placed particular emphasis on four key components:

 

  • The alignment of medical education management processes in Georgia with international standards;
  •  Familiarization with modern approaches to accreditation and quality assurance and promoting their implementation in practice;
  • Strengthening institutional and professional responsibility in delivering high-quality medical education;
  • Deepening international cooperation within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and sharing best practices.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives from the NCEQE’s Higher Education Quality Assurance, Planning, Research and International Relations, and Qualifications Development departments.

 

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE), the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.

 

It should be noted that the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) provides a platform for medical faculties and schools across European universities to share experiences in the areas of medical education, research and management.
