Lasha Margishvili Has Been Appointed Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement

Lasha Margishvili Has Been Appointed Director of the LEPL – National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, introduced the new head to the Center's staff.


The Minister spoke about Lasha Margishvili's experience in the public sector and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Lasha Margishvili graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He was awarded both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Law, and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Law of the same university.


As part of a doctoral educational grant awarded by the LEPL – Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Lasha Margishvili was assigned to Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom to conduct scientific research.


Lasha Margishvili has many years of extensive experience working in higher education quality assurance. Since 2011, he has served in various capacities at the LEPL – National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. Additionally, he has been engaged in academic activities as an invited lecturer since 2012.


Lasha Margishvili has participated in numerous local and international conferences on higher education quality assurance, serving as a speaker and session moderator at several conferences and forums.


He is the author of several scholarly publications. He has been awarded the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Medal, a Certificate of Honor from the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, and a Certificate from the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE).
In Croatia in 2026, Lasha Margishvili was elected Vice-President of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA).


Until now, Lasha Margishvili has served as the Acting Director of the LEPL – National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
