According to the current Higher Education Quality Assurance Standards and Procedures of Georgia, which are based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), all stakeholders, including employers, need to be involved both in external and internal quality assurance.
Since it is important for higher education institutions that their graduates be competitive in the labour market, the involvement of employers in modifying programs and, in general, in enhancing the quality of higher education at an institutional level, is essential. The involvement of employers in the ongoing processes within the higher education system should ensure that students are given the knowledge and develop the skills that are in line with the requirements of the labour market.
The importance of involving stakeholders, including employers, is highlighted in most components of the HEI Authorization as well as of the Program Accreditation Standards.
