Approval of Renewed Higher Educational Institution Educational Program Accreditation Charter and Fees

Through many people’s hard work and endeavor standards, procedures and fees of cluster accreditation have been approved.

Specific amendments have been introduced in the Accreditation Charter:

  1. Accreditation standards have been modified the aim of which is to consider the specificity of cluster accreditation; the structure of standards have been modified as well and new requirements have been set to reflect requirements for online learning and doctoral programs;
  2. New accreditation fees have been defined;
  3. Accreditation has been made mandatory for all higher educational programs;
  4. Rules and principles for clustering educational programs have been defined (e.g. maximum 8 educational programs can be clustered content-wise);
  5. Till the end of the year 2022 all doctoral and regulated educational programs will be evaluated through the engagement of international experts, and starting with January the 1st 2023, international experts will participate in the evaluation of all types of educational programs at all levels;
  6. Starting with January the 1st 2023 mandatory submission dates for educational program accreditation application will be effective (This does not refer to new educational programs submitted for accreditation);
  7. While granting accreditation to medical doctor one-cycle education program the Accreditation Council will define maximum amount of student intake for each individual program and specific procedures will be defined;
  8. One regulation has been added to the Charter, which refers to international accreditation – evaluation of educational programs of overseas higher educational institutions.
