As a result of the important work carried out by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, in order to continuously develop and improve the external quality assurance system, the Cluster Accreditation System has been implemented in the higher education system of Georgia since 2022. The necessity of introduction of the cluster acreditation system of educational programmes of Higher Educational Institutions was prompted by the analysis of the areas for improvement identified in the accreditation process and the international practice of programme accreditation.

In accordance with the changes, the process of cluster accreditation of higher education programmes of field of humanities is underway throughout the year of 2022, and higher educational institutions have an opportunity to present to the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement educational programmes of the field of humanities grouped in a cluster.

Both local and international experts, as well as students and employers, participate in the evaluation process of clusters of educational programmes in humanities. For example, following international experts have participated in the evaluation process of clusters of educational programmes at this stage:

Claudia Teresa Marsico - Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Senior Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Researches;

Peter Hendricus Antonius Ignatius Yonkers - Professor of Philosophy at Tilburg University (School of Catholic Theology until 2020, Germany). Since 2010, a member of the Advisory Council of the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Theological Study Programmes (AKAST, Germany);

Stéphane Lovick – Lecturer at Le Havre University of Technology (France), Secretary General of the Association of Directors of University Institutes of Technology, France (ADIUT). Expert of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC), Quality Assurance Agency of Lithuania;

Jakub Basista - Professor of the Jagiellonian University (Institute of History, Poland), member of the Higher Education Quality Agency of Latvia (AIKA), in the field of history;

George Christian Schupener - Professor at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (Czech Republic). Doctor in German Language and Literature/History of the German Language (University of Leipzig, Germany, 1995), Doctor in History (University of Hamburg, 1999, Germany). Chief researcher of the Programme for International Evaluation of Doctoral Programmes. 

In addition, in order to carry out the accreditation process smoothly, the National Center for educational quality enhancement constantly develops and updates the pool of accreditation experts and searches for experts in relevant fields of study.
