Representatives of the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement participated in the General Assembly and the Seminar organized by the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA). The events were held on June 2-3 of June, 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan and it was hosted by Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR).
The first working day was about the seminar on the topic of "People and Culture in Quality Assurance Agencies". Within the framework, Susanna Karakhanyan, the former president of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), present the topic on “Higher Education Core Values and the Role of the Values Satisfaction in QA Capacity Building.” Moreover, Melinda Szabo, the deputy director of European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), presented topic on “ESG Perspectives, Human Resources and processes for internal QA”.
Within the panel discussion, the member agencies of the CEENQA shared experiences and the best practices in human resource management, the role of digitalization and its impact on quality assurance. In addition, the member agencies briefly reviewed the current and recently implemented changes in legislative, structural and organizational directions. The representatives of the Center presented the implemented, ongoing and planned activities in the field of higher education quality enhancement in Georgia.
It should be noted that since 2020 the Center is a member of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA). The aim of the network is to contribute to the improvement of the quality assurance of higher education in the Central and Eastern European region. The opportunity to join the network is given to quality development agencies, which are guided by internationally recognized standards and guidelines for quality assurance of higher education, such as the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) to enhance cooperation and share experiences among network member organizations.
