The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (LEPL) and the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (AQAS) of Germany have renewed their Memorandum of Cooperation for an additional five-year term. The memorandum was officially signed on behalf of the Center by its Director, Mr. Alexandre Tsuladze.

This memorandum aims to facilitate cooperation between the parties in matters pertaining to higher education quality enhancement, encompassing the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices. Within the framework of joint initiatives, the parties will intensify their efforts in planning and implementing methodological, consultative, and research activities. Furthermore, the memorandum outlines plans for active collaboration in organizing work visits for agency personnel, involvement in institutional and programmatic accreditation processes, and the exchange of information regarding international experts. Moreover, representatives from both the Center and AQAS will actively engage in conferences and seminars organized by their respective institutions.

It is significant to note that the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (AQAS) of Germany is a European quality assurance agency with extensive experience in conducting higher education quality assessments both within Germany and internationally. Like the Center, AQAS is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and is registered with the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).

By strengthening partnerships with European quality assurance agencies, the Center ensures compliance with obligations stipulated in the Association Agreement between Georgia and the European Union, as well as commitments under the Bologna Process and activities outlined in the Center's strategic plan. Consequently, the Center will continue to actively pursue the planning and implementation of relevant initiatives in this direction in the future.
