Organized by the Qualifications Development Department of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE), the second quarterly meeting with international experts was held within the framework of the project “Enhancing the Implementation Capacities for the Referencing and Self-Certification of the National Qualifications Framework of Georgia (GEOREF)”.
The primary objective of the meeting was to inform participating international experts about the current progress of the referencing and self-certification process, to gather their feedback, and to collaboratively plan future activities.
Participants conducted an in-depth discussion of the updated analysis of Georgia’s national qualifications system developed within the project. The revised document reflects significant reforms and developments implemented across all levels of the country’s education system in recent years.
The NCEQE launched the GEOREF project with the aim of harmonizing Georgia’s National Qualifications Framework with two key European meta-frameworks: the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) and the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA). Through referencing and self-certification, the project seeks to ensure alignment between Georgia’s qualifications framework and those of Europe.
This alignment process is instrumental in establishing the compatibility of Georgian qualifications with European standards, thereby enhancing the transparency, comparability, and international recognition of the Georgian education system.
