Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities (ETHICS)

Project Aims:

· Launch a systemic improvement intervention to improve the quality of the higher education and academia-based research through adhering the foundations of high-quality research and excellence;

· Introduce the mechanisms of research ethics, academic good faith and plagiarism regulation in the accreditation standards of doctoral programs;

· Enhance the standards of responsible conduct of research and innovation and research ethics that are based on the principles of Research Integrity supported by appropriate policies, structures, mechanisms, tools and processes that help avoid cases of academic misconduct and academic work lacking originality.

 

Project Objectives:

· Reflection of research ethics and integrity within the program and institutional accreditation criteria and procedures;

· Developing a research integrity training module (MOOC) for PhD candidates, their supervisors and other stakeholders;

· Supporting the elaboration of university research Integrity policies and resources;

· Establishment of integrity governance committees for ethical research reviews;

· Designing academic and research integrity services for supportive environment for researchers;

· Supporting responsible science communication.
