The ARAQUA 2 project aims to simplify and harmonize the recognition of qualifications that grant access to higher education across Europe, including both general secondary and vocational education.
Building on the achievements of the first phase, ARAQUA 2 represents the next step in creating a more transparent and efficient recognition system. Both phases are supported by the Erasmus+ programme.
The first phase of ARAQUA ran for two years and concluded in 2024. It brought together national information centers, ministries of education, and higher education institutions from ten European countries: Latvia, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Malta, Romania, Slovakia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Armenia. Through research, workshops, and exchange of experiences, the project developed recommendations on how countries understand and recognize qualifications granting access to higher education.
ARAQUA 2 builds on these results with a broader and more practice-oriented approach. This phase will deepen research, test recognition mechanisms, and strengthen cooperation among participating countries. Ultimately, the project seeks to make studying abroad easier for students and to improve access to education across Europe.
