The main goal of the TPG-LRC Plus project is to simplify the recognition of qualifications within the European Higher Education Area by ensuring greater transparency and consistency in recognition processes.
The first phase, TPG-LRC, focused on bringing together countries under the Lisbon Recognition Convention framework into thematic peer groups to share experiences and establish common practices. The second phase, TPG-LRC CoRE, concentrated on developing digital tools and conducting in-depth analyses of various aspects of the recognition process.
TPG-LRC Plus represents the third phase of the initiative. Its objective is to further expand the work carried out so far and achieve more effective, practice-based results by 2028.
The project is coordinated by CIMEA, the Italian ENIC-NARIC center, with the active involvement of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) in the coordination process.
Key themes of the project include promoting alignment of national legislation with the Lisbon Recognition Convention, clarifying institutional responsibilities for recognition procedures, improving mechanisms for the recognition of refugees’ qualifications, and encouraging greater use of digital solutions in recognition practices.
TPG-LRC Plus will contribute to the standardization and increased efficiency of recognition practices, further simplifying the recognition of educational qualifications across the European Higher Education Area.
