National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement held an annual international conference wherein important issues of higher, vocational, general and early and preschool education were discussed, such as - achievements and challenges in the context of education quality assurance.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia opened the conference and emphasized the importance of quality assurance at all levels of education.
In his speech, the minister highlighted the achievements of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. He particularly singled out several achievements by the Center: acquisition of membership in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA); recognition by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME); and registration in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). The minister noted that these achievements are a step forward not only for the Center but for Georgian education system as a whole.
The minister also emphasized the importance of holding the annual international forum of ENQA in Georgia. According to him, in 2023, based on the decision of the European Association for European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement will host the Forum, which is a really important achievement in terms of the country's awareness, development and internationalization of the quality of higher education.
Tamar Makharashvili, the Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement summarized the activities of the NCEQE in 2022.
Tamar Makharashvili noted that the NCEQE in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, educational institutions, local and international education specialists and experts constantly takes care of improving the quality assurance processes of education, their openness and transparency.
The participants of the conference included: representatives of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME), the European University Association (EUA), the European Students' Association (ESU) and international experts, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, local self-government, schools, vocational and higher educational institutions, early and preschool education institutions, as well as partner local and international organizations, members of the Center's Coordinating Council, members of the Accreditation, Authorization and Appeals Council and experts, students, employers and other interested parties.
