LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) has joined as a partner an Erasmus+ capacity building project,,Enhancement of special oral healthcare practice and lifelong learning among dental practitioners in Georgia."
The aim of the project is to contribute to shaping and enhancing oral health workforce by upgrading/modernizing the curricula of dentistry programmes at the Georgian higher education institutions (HEIs) and equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality dental care and service to special needs patients in Georgia.
The main objectives of the project are:
1. Modernising existing dentistry programme curricula at HEIs in Tbilisi, Imereti, and Adjara regions by updating/upgrading existing study courses with theoretical components and practical approaches in order to provide oral healthcare services to people with special needs by using latest technologies and techniques;
2. Providing more practice through training to students and academic staff of dentistry programmes at partner Georgian HEIs;
3. Providing oral healthcare workers in Tbilisi, Imereti, and Adjara regions with lifelong learning (LLL) training opportunities by developing and offering special training modules;
4. Raising awareness among patients with disabilities and their caregivers on the importance and accessibility of oral healthcare services.
The project will be administered in 2024-2026 under the coordination of European University, and along with the NCEQE, local higher educational institutions, as well as international partners will be engaged as project participants.
