Acting Director of the NCEQE Becomes the Member of CEENQA Executive Board

On June 14, 2025, members of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), elected Mr. Lasha Margishvili, Acting Director of the LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, as a member of the Executive Board at the CEENQA General Assembly.

 

The NCEQE's representation in the CEENQA Executive Board ensures its active participation in discussions concerning issues and challenges in higher education quality assurance. Furthermore, the NCEQE has an opportunity to actively participate in addressing strategically important issues related to CEENQA, deepen international cooperation, engage in discussions concerning the modification of higher education quality assurance systems, share best practices, and present main achievements and challenges of the Georgian higher education system.

 

Lasha Margishvili, the Acting Director of the NCEQE, and Davit Kukhalashvili, Head of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Department, attended the CEENQA General Assembly held on June 13–14, 2025. CEENQA was established in 2001 with the aim of promoting the improvement of higher education quality assurance in Central and Eastern Europe through enhanced cooperation and sharing of experience among its member agencies.  The agencies that operate based on internationally recognized standards and guidelines in quality assurance of higher education, such as the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015) are eligible to join the network.

 

As of June 2025, the CEENQA has 46 members: 42 full members and 4 observer members.

 

The NCEQE’s representation to the CEENQA Executive Board confirms once again the high level of international credibility of the NCEQE, contributes to increased international visibility, and enhances the degree of internationalization of the NCEQE's activities within the European Higher Education Area.
