25 September 2025

The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement is actively participating in the Erasmus + project ETHICS - Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities. The project implementation period is 2023-2027.

In June 2025, within the framework of the project, employees of the Center’s Higher Education Quality Assurance Service visited the LEPL - Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, where they discussed the process of establishing research ethics committees and the drafts of action plans. In September of the same year, the Center’s staff were dispatched to Brno (Czech Republic), to Masaryk University, where they discussed strengthening the role of ethics officers, developing policy documents, and strategies for responsibly conducted scientific communication.

During the visits, the Center presented the guidelines and framework documents developed under the project, which will be used in the evaluation process of doctoral programmes.

During the meetings, the scope and timelines of the Center’s upcoming activities were defined, and new opportunities for collaboration were outlined.

The project aims to establish standards of research integrity and ethics in Georgian universities, founded on the principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability. The Center will continue to actively collaborate with international partners to enhance the quality of higher education and promote the development of a research environment grounded in integrity.
