On December 17, 2025, organized by the Qualifications Development Department of the LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, the fourth quarterly meeting with international experts was held within the framework of the project: "Strengthening the Capacity for Referencing and Self-Certification of the Georgian National Qualifications Framework (GEOREF)."

The meeting aimed to inform the international experts involved in the project about the current progress within the referencing and self-certification process of the National Qualifications Framework, to receive feedback from them, and to plan future activities. Furthermore, it aimed to provide information to international experts regarding the announced reforms in the higher and general education systems and to receive their feedback for the effective planning of the subsequent stages of developing the referencing and self-certification report.

The meeting also reviewed the results of the sessions held in October of the current year with representatives of general education institutions and the expanded stakeholder working group supporting the referencing and self-certification process of the Georgian National Qualifications Framework. This was done to ensure stakeholder engagement and raise awareness regarding the referencing and self-certification processes of the National Qualifications Framework with European meta-frameworks. The participants also discussed tentative dates for the next meetings.

The LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement initiated this project for the purpose of harmonization with European qualifications frameworks, which implies the process of referencing and self-certifying the Georgian National Qualifications Framework against European meta-frameworks (EQF-LLL, QF-EHEA).

The project aims to harmonize the Georgian National Qualifications Framework and establish its compatibility with the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) and the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA).
This process also ensures the establishment of the compatibility of existing qualifications in Georgia with European qualifications, which, in turn, will facilitate the enhancement of the international visibility and awareness of the Georgian education system.
