An international Conference on Quality Assurance Issues in General Education Was Held

15 October 2026

A two-day international conference was organized by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE), with one of its sessions dedicated to quality assurance issues in general education.

The conference was opened by Lasha Margishvili, the Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE). He summarized the Center's activities for 2026 and presented its future vision to the participants.

Tamar Shengelia, the Deputy Head of the Center's General Education Quality Assurance Department, presented the outcomes of the department's 2026 activities and the main directions of the action plan for the upcoming year to the participants.

One of the main topics of the conference was creating a safe learning environment for students and providing them with psychosocial support. The participants discussed these matters together with representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Legal Entities of Public Law (LEPLs) operating under its governance.

Furthermore, the deliberations covered opportunities to improve quality assurance within the educational process, alongside procedures governing the recognition of general education acquired abroad.

Participants learned about the specific features of the foreign general education programme of Pearson Education and Kutaisi Andria Razmadze Physico-Mathematical Public School No. 41.

The conference was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, its territorial bodies—Educational Resource Centers—international and local organizations, and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE).
